Erin Bardua
has portrayed various operatic
characters for Toronto audiences, including Nannetta
in Falstaff and Antonia in Les Contes d'Hoffmann. A
lover of contemporary music, Erin created a leading
role in the world premiere of Canadian opera Eyes on
the Mountain, and the role of Elizabeth in Andrew
Ager's new opera Frankenstein. She has also been seen
in many other productions of the operatic and music
theatre repertoire, such as Josephine in HMS Pinafore,
Polly Peachum in The Beggar's Opera, and Giannetta in
The Gondoliers. As a concert soloist, Erin's
repertoire includes the Mozart Requiem, The Creation
by Haydn, and Judas Maccabeus as well as the
perennial favourite, Messiah, by Handel.

Lesley Bouza
is a graduate of The University of Guelph and is currently completing her post-graduate studies at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She frequently enjoys performing with Arcady, as both a soloist and chorister, in works such as Handel's Messiah, Ronald Beckett's Welcome Yule, and in Ronald Beckett's music drama Ruth (Naomi). She has performed extensively with The University of Guelph Choirs and was a choral scholar at Dublin Street United Church. She has also worked under conductors such as Marta McCarthy, Sir Martin Neary, James MacMillan, Robert Sund, and Noel Edison. Natasha Campbell
has enjoyed many recital and concert performances as a soloist throughout Ontario. Her recent work has included performances of Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem, Orff's Carmina Burana, Dona Nobis Pacem by Vaughan Williams, Britten's Company of Heaven, Handel's Israel in Egypt and Messiah, and performances with Arcady featuring music from their recording "Welcome Yule." Recent solo performances have been with the University of Guelph Choirs, the Achill Choral Society in Orangeville, and Pax Christi Chorale in Toronto. Her love for contemporary music has led her down the path to singing with Arcady and in several NUMUS productions, including Stockhausen's Stimmung and the premiere of Tim Brady's As it Happened with the Mirror Image Ensemble. Natasha studied singing at Wilfrid Laurier University where she obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in performance and a Diploma in Chamber Music specializing in 20th Century repertoire. Currently, she studies with Jo-Anne Bentley in Toronto. Natasha received first place at the Guelph Spring Festival's Edward Johnson Competition and won second prize in the prestigious Eckhardt-Gramatté National competition. Natasha can be heard as a soloist on Beckett’s "Welcome Yule!", released in October 2001.

Heather Cumine
graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with her Hon. BMus. and Opera Diploma. Her recordings include Welcome Yule with Arcady, Somewhere I Have Never Travelled based on the poetry of e.e. cummings by Peter Skoggard, and commercials including Virginia Dare Foods. Ms. Cumine had the recent honour of singing for and with renowned Canadian contralto Maureen Forrester at the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto. Other highlights include performing for former Lt. Governor Lincoln Alexander and His Eminence the Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church. Operatic roles include: Mother in Anoush, Lady of Eguchi in Moon Over Eguchi, Mother in Hansel and Gretel and Pauline in the Queen of Spades. 2004 highlights include a performance at the Living Arts Center in May.

Terri-Lyn Paterson
grew up in the Kitchener area. During her formative years, she studied accordion, piano and voice. To date, she has performed seven of the G&S operettas. Continuing with her love of music, she graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance. Terri-Lyn has sung with various groups - including Opera Hamilton, John Laing Singers, K-W Oktoberfest Productions - and is now singing with Arcady. From solo recitals to ensemble choirs, Terri-Lyn continues to sing and is now training a future generation of singers - her own two daughters Bronwyn and Tamara. |

Heather Fleming
sings soprano in the prestigious Parish Choir of St. John's Anglican Church in Elora and also in the renowned Elora Festival Singers, both directed by Noel Edison. She is one of Arcady's most prominent performers and has been a part of a dozen recordings. Heather has worked with some of the world’s finest conductors in cities across Canada and the USA as well as in Germany, Greece, and England. Heather was also featured on TVOntario's On Stage at Studio 2 playing music of Ronald Beckett and also appeared on Breakfast Television with the Elora Festival Singers.
Heather has been a vocal coach, guest clinician and soloist for various ensembles. She has been teaching voice, recorder, and theory since 1999 and conveys her enthusiasm, creativity and love of music to her students, many of whom are high achievers in RCM exams and music festivals across south western Ontario. Heather earned her B.Mus at Wilfrid Laurier University, studying recorder with Shannon Purves-Smith, performing in the Chapel Choir directed by Jan Overduin and in the Baroque Ensemble under Michael Purves-Smith. She studied voice with Ronald Beckett and is currently serving as President of the Board of Directors for Arcady.

Abigail Freeman
recently completed a Master of Music Degree in Voice Performance at Binghamton University, New York. Her engaging presence has lent itself well to such roles as Fanchette (Le mariage aux lanternes), Ilia (Idomeneo), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Adele (Die Fledermaus), and Lakmé. The young Canadian soprano has also delighted listeners with her expressive singing in the soprano oratorio roles of Handel’s Messiah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion and J.S. Bach’s cantatas, Wachet, betet, betet, wachet and Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme.

Gillian Grossman
trained in opera, concert and song repertoire at McGill University in Montréal graduating with Bachelor and Master’s degrees. Past opera engagements include Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Cosi fan tutte, Verdi’s Rigoletto, and Ravel’s L’Enfant et les sortileges. During her two years as a chor-soloist with Stadt Theater St. Gallen (Switzerland), Gillian sang a number of small roles, including Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Erste Mädchen in Der Zwerg, and la Chauve-souris in L’Enfant et les sortileges. In 2004, Gillian debuted as a featured soloist with Theater St. Gallen as the title character in Grigori Frid’s one woman opera Das Tagebuch der Anne Frank. Following this success, Gillian went on to portray the role Sophie de Palma in Theater St. Gallen’s production of Masterclass. Gillian enjoyed critical acclaim in her native Canada after making her debut in December 2004 with the Boris Brott Festival Orchestra singing in Handel’s Messiah.

Lynsey Makkreel
is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and alumna of The Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph. A long time student of Ronald Beckett and singer with Arcady, she has been a stage performer and soloist in most of the ensemble's major works including Dido and Aeneas, Acis and Galatea, Messiah, Magic Flute, Beckett’s opera trilogy: Ruth, John the Baptist and I Am..., and "Welcome Yule". In 2000, she was one of the featured performers at the Brantford Music Club’s Young Artist Recital at the Sanderson Centre. While at Guelph, Lynsey sang with the university's Symphonic and Chamber choirs and was a soloist in the group that performed at Podium 2002. Solo performances can be heard on many of the University of Guelph recordings. She has also participated in Arcady recordings "A Baroque Messiah" and "Peace On Earth".

Gabrielle McLaughlin
has worked in Montreal as a member of Concerto della Donnae and Cappella Antica. She lives in Toronto with her two children, where she has sung with such groups as Tafelmusik, the Toronto Chamber Choir and the Elmer Iseler Singers. Gabrielle’s work as a solo performer is showcased as a founding member of Toronto’s renowned I FURIOSI Baroque Ensemble. As a sought-after voice teacher and stylistic coach, Gabrielle has cultivated a following of students and listeners alike. She is also a member of Toronto’s new Studio Sixteen, directed by Kevin Komisaruk. Gabrielle performs as a soloist with various other ensembles (including Arcady, The Renaissance Singers and The Tallis Choir) and orchestras in Canada, the U.S. and England. I FURIOSI Baroque Ensemble’s new CD "Defiled is my (Middle) Name" has won critical acclaim.

Marion Samuel-Stevens
a graduate of the University of Toronto's Voice Performance is building a reputation as a performer of new music as well as oratorio. Marion is an avid supporter of new music and has performed Grigori Frid's Diary of Anne Frank as Anne, Mark Adamo's Little Women as Beth, as well as David Del-Tredici's Alice with the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra. As a semi-finalist in the 2008 Eckhardt-Gramatte competition Marion will travel to Brandon, Manitoba to compete and perform a programme of new Canadian works. Operatic roles include Elle in La Voix Humaine by Poulenc, Helene in Shostakovich's Hin und Zuruck and Estelle in The Stronger by Hugo Weisgall, Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute by Mozart and Titania in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Marion has performed the title role in Ruth by Ronald Beckett and has enjoyed many collaborations with Elora composer Peter Skoggard. Oratorio highlights include Mozart's Coronation Mass and Vespers, Haydn's Paukenmesse and Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria and Magnificat, Gounod's St. Cecilia Mass, Faure's Requiem, Handels' Messiah and Vaughan Williams' Sea Symphony, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and Haydn's Creation.

Charlene Santoni
has performed include Miss Wordsworth in Britten's Albert Herring, Rosalinda in Strauss' Die Fledermaus, Madame Goldentrill in Mozart's The Impresario, Konstanze in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail, The Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Mrs. Segstrom in Sondheims' A Little Night Music and La Charmeuse in Thaïs. Her opera credits include appearances with Edmonton Opera, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Opera NUOVA, the Concert Opera Group, the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra, Brampton Lyric Opera, the Aldeburgh Connection, Soundstreams Canada, the International Vocal Arts Institute, the Centre for Opera Studies in Italy, Pacific Opera Victoria and the Chamber Orchestra of Sofia Bulgaria. She has appeared with the Boston Pops and had a vocal fellowship with the Tanglewood Music Center.

Deanna Sarkar
is a frequent lead soloist with Arcady, and has had solo engagements with the Milton Choristers and with various churches throughout southwestern Ontario. Other concerts include "Two Panting Women: Trouser Role Duets and Arias" with mezzo-soprano Hollie Dunkley, and "The Ages of Love: Elizabethan Love Songs" with lutenist David Lenson. She holds a MMus in vocal performance from the University of South Dakota and was the 2003 winner of Arcady’s Richard Carroll Memorial Award. Active in theatre, musical theatre and opera, Deanna has appeared as Cinderella in London Musical Theatre’s production of Into the Woods, in Arcady’s Ruth and The Magic Flute, and as Olivia in the University of Western Ontario’s Twelfth Night. Deanna is the current Board President of Arcady.

Kelly Simmons is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario in the Music Education program. She has studied voice with Alvin Reimer and was also a member of the Faculty Singers and the Early Music Studio at UWO.She has been performing with the ensemble since its founding, and in that time she has performed the lead role in staged performances
of Dido and Aeneas, Acis and Galatea, and Ruth. Kelly has also performed featured roles in John, I Am... and The Magic Flute with this ensemble. She is a former recipient of the Governor General's Medal, the University Women's Club Scholarship and a co-winner of the P.G. Marshall Memorial Scholarship.

Annetta Whetham received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Lethbridge in 2004. She graduated from Mohawk College in 2002, where she received a Diploma of Applied Music. She has studied with Dr. George Evelyn in Lethbridge, Alberta, Lita Klassen in Hamilton and Carol Ann Feldstein in Waterloo. She has participated in a master class with Richard Miller. Recent concerts include a concert for children celebrating Canadian classical music, done with the help of S.P.T.A. (Students Promoting the Arts) and a benefit recital for the Soweto Marimba Kidz from South Africa. She currently lives in Cambridge and teaches privately at Beyond the Clef Music School. Annetta also conducts the Gilbert and Sullivan Ensemble of Kitchener-Waterloo.

Tammy Whetham is a vocal major at Wilfrid Laurier University, studying with Daniel Lichti. Her classical accomplishments include grade 8 voice and grade 2 theory with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Tammy was nominated for the Bernice Adams Awards in Outstanding Youth as well as Music. She has also won the Alice Sloan Memorial Scholarship for being the Most Promising Young Performer.
Tammy has always dreamed of having a career in the theatre. She has recently played the roles of Shelley in BatBoy and Penelope Pennywise in Urinetown: The Musical with Laurier Musical Theatre. She has also played Fantine in Les Miserables, Little Red in Little Red Riding Hood, Marty in Grease, Mrs, Baskin in Big: The Musical, and Kim in Bye Bye Birdie. Tammy has also taken part in many independent films. Tammy teaches voice and beginner piano at Beyond the Clef Music School in Cambridge.
